JAmes Gurney’s Imaginative REalism - 10/10 Would RECOMMEND

There are very few art educational books out there that I can sing praises of, and even then there are book that I only like. You can find that short list under my Recommended Reading List. So when I bring up the fact that I find James Gurney’s book Imaginative Realism a MUST HAVE, understand that it means this book is well worth your time and money. 10/10 will recommend.

Michael Hampton’s Figure Drawing Design and Invention - Would Not Recommend

Over the years I’ve seen a lot of How to Draw books, and Michael Hampton’s book was one of the first books I read on the subject. At the time I did enjoy this book and thought highly of it. Since then I have seen and read many more resources and find that in the scheme of things, this book does not cover the subject as thoroughly as I would like. Spoilers, I don’t love it.
